As promised by those organizing this event it has certainlt started off well. Friday night was well attneded and everyone was in rare form. Today only promises to be awesome!Fantastic to see so many who did not attend the last one and lloking forward to seeing so many more.Linda I have to disagree, Bob T. is not what you said he is. Congratulations to the committe on a job well done and lets raise hell today.Boy some of you sure do age nicely, WOW.
Lucy, hang in there......don't worry ..........I have some modeling jobs lined up for you ! Several look very lucrative, ....................your agent, Mr. Tomaso
Sean,As a committee member I can say that all the work was worth it when I think how Bugsy Porreca and Coach Al Scarpinato both enjoyed attending the reunion earlier this summer. It was an event that was important enough for them to attend even though it was somewhat of a struggle. Tomas
Hey everyone . . . I have a new "Now" picture. i just have one question . . . how do I look as a blonde? Lucy
I would like to add to the lovely Ms. Russo's food review with the addition of EARTH FOODS on the 500 block of Warren Street. Excellent sandwiches and soups, many vegetarian choices. The grilled portabella on their home made wheat bread is outstanding. As for the Winter Walk it does bring out many people. Hopefully it is "winter like" that evening. Have attended walks in the bitter cold and have been very unhappy to do the walk in 50 degree weather............30 degrees with light snow will do the job !!!
Just a little fun.http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/listoftheday/99685/the-25-cheesiest-hits-of-the-1970s/
I say we all set up tents on the Polish Sportsmens Club grounds and do an all nighter.
What's going on my friends? Hope Claverack represents..... Jeff Crank your varsity club jacket is still in the attic in my house on 23b, Keywords to trigger memories … The Swimming hole, Keller's Bridge Jumps, Tubing with beer, The quarries bigger jump, Van Duson road & the baker and the falls, Varsity Club parties & 12 halfs of beer (consumed in 6hrs). Senior lounge… hide quick, the path, the wop shop subs, blue anchor A-7, lang road, Taking Durkin to the senior prom, extra halfs at Pizza-hut, 5 Hamburgers for a $1.00, strip poker & “3 body suits” blue 67 galaxy 500 then White galaxy 500, Driver Rotation while driving at 50 mph, Lake Taconic skinny dips trips.
Well HHS friends (and family members), you onlyhave a short while for that rockin' big party!! As itturns out, this timeframe wasn't conducive to fit-inthe number of folks I want to see. (Too large an extended family to see everyone without missing some). Airline travels are challenging cross-country.This site is wonderful and had reconnected me with some wonderful memories! Maria, enjoy all of the gang you'll see there! As mentioned, you and Linda look the same! Sheila, Cyn, etc., great to know you're all doing well! Ellen, now you finally get to see whoyou missed graduating with, after your move!Hugs to All!!Ann
I need to clarify some things as Mr. Tomaso has had his spies out on me . . . apparently he said there are rumors flying about regarding my life changes . . . which may or may not include menopause . . .lol . . well . . .Mr. Smarty Pants Tomaso . . . bring those rumors on . . . . since my life is an open book anyway! But seriously and sadly . . . part of the changes include losing my job here in Florida . . . so there are decisions to be made . . . opportunities, changes, etc. etc. etc. However, I am certain that this was meant to be. Things happen for a reason. And now, as in the past, I will survive . . . partly due to my own faith and strength, and partly due to the never ending support I get from my family and friends. Life is good!!!
Carole . . . .no, no, no, no, no . . . we are still all young! Young is a state of mind. Think about how much wisdom we have gained over the years. Add to that the potential and passion we all have . . . yes, it is natural to reminisce, however, let us not submit to our biological ages . . . .we have so much more to offer the world!
Hey, just want to say I am still thinking very warm thoughts about July 19; really was such a life-affirming event in so many ways.Looks like my mother will be returning to Claverack on a full-time basis at the end of October (that's Prof. Nancy Smith, for those of you who might've gone to Columbia-Greene in the 70s or 80s). So I may be "passing through" a bit more often than in the past several years -- hopefully I can see some of you folks now and then. Also, just wanted to say: I didn't know Mr. Scarpinato, and wasn't all that well-acquainted with Jim, but my condolences to all here for whom they were friends and/or mentors. I guess the consolation is that in this Internet age we have a means to share our grief in a way that wasn't possible before. Doesn't make it "all better," but perhaps keeps those connections intact.
Just a reminder to all those in the area, the first Saturday in December the 6th is Winter Walk. It is a great time to once again experience Warren Street in it's glory. For those who have never been you will certainly surprised at the number of "locals" who will be out and about.Hope to see you all there. I will be at the new Real Estate office at 541 Warren Street, right next to Mexican Radio.
How FUNNY Sean! Did anyone notice the pics from the Santa Speedo Run?? (On theright side of C & C's reunion article). Somerunners are young enough to be our kids. Gotta give those "boomers" credit fordoing the run (in Speedos) as well!!HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!
Going to have to miss the festivities this time around -- I was in town last weekend, and I can't do two in a row, I'm afraid. Best wishes and safe travels to all. Raise a glass and sing loud.
Hi everyone! Yes, I'm still kicking. I have to miss the party because I'm chairing a big event at my church on Saturday. My wife and I live in Hanover, Pennsylvania (home of Snyder's of Hanover and Utz Snack Foods) and have a son starting his junior year in college. I have great memories of HHS and my classmates. Like many others I'm glad that cell phone cameras and instagram didn't exist at that time. I hope everyone has a great time this year. I'll be sure to be there next time.
